Welcome to the 5th annual Cabernet Franc Carnival, presented by Avontuur Estate!
On Saturday 18 May 2019, from 11am-4pm, the event will again take place at Avontuur Estate between Stellenbosch and Somerset West.
Visitors can taste a fabulous selection of wines by the participating wineries who will be showcasing their 100% Cabernet Francs, Cab Franc-led blends and, in some cases, even Cab Franc Rosés. There will also be plenty of opportunity to buy wines directly from producers.
Relax at the Avontuur Restaurant or be tempted by selected food trucks, listen to background music and enjoy one-on-one interaction with winemakers.
Tickets are limited, and are available for R250 pp online or R280 at the door, which includes tastings with our participating wineries, a R50 discount coupon to spend on food and a tasting glass.
Visitors can also book for one of three tutored tastings of the Top 6 Cab Franc Challenge winners, presented by the head of the 2019 judging panel and Cape Wine Master, Christine Rudman. Only 20 people can be accommodated at each tutored tasting, ensuring an intimate and interactive experience for visitors.
Session times: 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm. Tickets for the tutored tastings cost R150 pp (in addition to the entrance ticket fee).
